Press Release - Plea of Lloyd McCavitt

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable N. Peter Conforti, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on December 17, 2018, by Lloyd McCavitt.
McCavitt, age 45 of Vernon, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous substance, a third degree crime, and to Driving Under the Influence, a motor vehicle violation. Sentencing is presently anticipated for February 8, 2019.
On September 24, 2018, the defendant was stopped for a motor vehicle violation in Hardyston Township. In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to being in possession of heroin and to driving under the influence.
The case was investigated by Ptl. Lawrence Barcza of the Hardyston Township Police Department.
McCavitt was represented by Daniel A. Colfax, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
