Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Harold Hosking, III, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on May 4, 2018.
Hosking, age 40 of Branchville, NJ, was sentenced to 180 days in jail with credit for 195 days time served. Hosking was also sentenced to four (4) years of probation and ordered to obtain a TASC evaluation and pay mandatory fines and fees.
Hosking pled guilty on October 10, 2017 to one (1) count of Simple Assault and one (1) count of Resisting Arrest, disorderly persons offenses. On August 4, 2017, Hosking came home drunk and physically assaulted his girlfriend. He then left the home and went to a bar where police found him. When officers attempted to place Hosking under arrest, he refused to allow the officers to handcuff him.
Hosking was represented by David A. Nufrio, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Shaina Brenner.
