Press Release - Sentencing of Harold Hosking, III

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Harold Hosking, III, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on May 4, 2018.
     Hosking, age 40 of Branchville, NJ, was sentenced to 270 days in jail with credit for 190 days time served and loss of driving privileges for ten (10) years . Hosking was also sentenced to four (4) years of probation and ordered to obtain a TASC evaluation, perform fifty (50) hours of community service, and to pay mandatory fines and fees. 
     Hosking pled guilty on March 26, 2018 to one (1) count of Aggravated Assault, a third degree offense, one (1) count of Operating a Motor Vehicle During a Period of License Suspension for a 2nd or Subsequent DWI, a fourth degree offense and one (1) count of Refusal to Submit to a Breath Test, a motor vehicle offense. On October 27, 2017,  Hosking was arrested after he assaulted a patron at a local bar. Hosking fled the scene and attempted to hide from State Police. Upon arrest, he was found to have a suspended license due to a second or subsequent DWI conviction.
     Hosking was represented by David A. Nufrio, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Shaina Brenner.
