Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on March 12, 2018, by Joseph Colon.
Colon, age 29 of Boonton, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime. Sentencing is presently anticipated for May 4, 2018.
On November 20, 2017, Sparta Police stopped Colon for a motor vehicle offense. In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to being in possession of heroin at that time.
The case was investigated by Cpl. Marc Rubino of the Sparta Township Police Department.
Colon was represented by Thomas Militano, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
