Press Release - Plea of Daniel O’Bryan

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable N. Peter Conforti, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on February 13, 2018 by Daniel O’Bryan.
     O’Bryan, age 48, of Sandyston, pled guilty to second degree Burglary, nine (9) counts third degree Burglary, six (6) counts third degree Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, nine (9) counts third degree Theft, third degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, third degree Criminal Mischief, five (5) counts third degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and fourth degree Illegal Transport of a Weapon.  Sentencing is presently scheduled for April 20, 2018.
     The defendant admitted in 2016 he burglarizing multiple homes in Sandyston, Montague, Wantage, Hampton, Frankford and Branchville in Sussex County and White Township in Warren County in April of 2017.  Various items were taken from these homes, including but not limited to, generators, weapons, cash, televisions, cameras and jewelry.  He also admitted to transporting the weapons to Paterson with his co-defendants, where he exchanged them for drugs.
     O’Bryan was represented by Nicole Rizzolo, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
