Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Giansteban Ariza, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on January 12, 2018.
Ariza, age 21, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 2 years probation. He was also ordered to complete anger management and pay mandatory fines and fees.
Ariza pled guilty on November 27, 2017 to one (1) count of simple assault, a disorderly persons offense and one (1) county of reckless endangerment, a disorderly persons offense.
On August 16, 2017, Ariza and his girlfriend got into an argument and Ariza physically assaulted her in the presence of their child.
Ariza was represented by David Nufrio, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Shaina Brenner.
