"Veterans Cruise Night" at Friendly's Restaurant
(Newton, NJ) The Sussex County Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Senior Services, Municipal Alliance and the Veterans Committee will be sponsoring a veterans' outreach program in conjunction with Friendly's Restaurant titled "Veterans Cruise Night." This event is scheduled to take place at Friendly's Restaurant, located at 9 Hampton House Road, Newton, NJ, on Friday, August 23, 2019, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Come out and see classic hot rods being displayed by local car enthusiasts. Veterans attending this event will also have the opportunity to become better informed about services available to them through the Veterans Administration, Sussex County agencies and other local service organizations. Participating agencies include the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Catholic Family & Community Services, Supportive Services for Veterans Families (SSVF) Program, Sussex County Division of Senior Services, Sussex County Municipal Alliance, and the Sussex County Mental Health Board.
All veterans and the public are encouraged to participate in this informational event. Robert McCann, Vietnam Era Veteran from the Sussex County Veterans Committee said, "In all too many instances, veterans are unaware of the programs and services available to them. The agencies in attendance will provide information and answer questions." In an effort to inform veterans of services available to them, we extend a special invitation to all veterans and their families to attend the "Veterans Cruise Night."
