VITA Program Seeks Volunteers
(Newton, NJ)             The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program provides a valuable service to Sussex County residents whose incomes are $50,000 or below. The program, coordinated through the Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services, provides free assistance in the preparation of basic federal and state income tax forms, tax rebate forms, and Earned Income Tax Credit applications. This valuable service is available at a multitude of sites within the County.
Volunteers are needed for the 2011 tax season. Training will be provided by a certified public accountant and an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) representative prior to the start of the program on or about February 1, 2011. The program ends by, approximately, the 15th of April.   If you are interested in joining a dedicated group of volunteers in this worthwhile program, please call the Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services at 973-579-0555 ext 1222 for additional information. You can make a difference in your community!
