State Health Insurance Assistance Program (S.H.I.P)
Expanding in Sussex County
(Newton, NJ) The Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services is pleased to announce the expansion the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (S.H.I.P.) In addition to services provided at the Division of Senior Services office at One Spring Street, Newton, Medicare assistance will now be available at the Sussex County Main Library located at 125 Morris Turnpike, Newton, NJ. This site will be open on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., starting July 21, 2010. Appointments may be made by calling the Division of Senior Services at 973-579-0555. While appointments will take priority, drop-ins are welcome and will be assisted on a first come first served basis.
S.H.I.P. is a statewide program sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services with major funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). S.H.I.P. provides FREE, objective, confidential help to New Jersey Medicare beneficiaries who have problems with or questions about Medicare, Medigap, Medicare Advantage Plans, Pharmaceutical Programs and Long-Term Care Insurance.
