     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on January 3, 2022, by Kelsey Stephens.

     Stephens, age 31 of Andover, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime, and Driving While Suspended, a motor vehicle offense.   Sentencing is presently anticipated for February 16, 2022.

     In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to being in possession of heroin and driving with a suspended driver license on September 20, 2021, in Byram Township.   

     The case was investigated by Ptl. Derek Kuncken of the Byram Township Police Department.  

     Stephens was represented by Shaun Russell, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
