     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Rory J. Mahon who appeared before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Virtual Sussex County Courtroom in Newton on December 10, 2021.

 

     Mahon, age 29, of Sparta, was sentenced to two years Probation. Along with the standard conditions of Probation, he must also complete a TASC Evaluation or Substance Abuse Evaluation and follow any and all recommendations per probation, continue treatment, submit a DNA sample, undergo random urine monitoring, and pay $1205 in fines/fees.

 

     He pled guilty on August 30, 2021 to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a crime of the third degree.

 

     The defendant was found to be in possession of oxycodone, without a valid prescription, by Hopatcong Police who were responding to a disturbance call at Quick Chek. 

 

     Mahon was represented by Travis J. Tormey Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Sally Anne Monkemeier.
