     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Jose Lopez Nieves, who appeared before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on February 18, 2021.

     Lopez Nieves, age 20 of Paterson, was sentenced to three (3) years probation and 180 days incarceration, concurrent on all charges.  He received credit of seven (7) days served and ordered to pay court fines and fees.  He was also ordered to have no contact with the victims and their businesses.

     He pled guilty on December 1, 2020 to three (3) counts of Burglary, a third degree crime, three (3) counts of Theft, a third degree crime, and one (1) count of Criminal Mischief, a third degree crime.

     These cases were investigated by Trooper Hendrix, Trooper Encarnacion, Trooper Pall, Trooper McGrath, Det. Jacinto and Det. Erny of the New Jersey State Police Department. 

     Lopez Nieves was represented by Bruce Farrier, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Laura L. Nazzaro.
