     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Ryan T. Young, who appeared before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, Jr., J.S.C., on April 23, 2020.

 

     Young, age 37 of Newton, was sentenced to two years of probation supervision with the condition that he complete a drug treatment program.  He was further ordered to pay fines and fees totaling $1,205.00.

 

     He pled guilty on December 9, 2019, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Heroin, a third degree crime.

 

     On September 11, 2019, the defendant was arrested by Newton Police following a report of a suspicious person. Young was found to be in possession of multiple bags of heroin, along with drug paraphernalia.

 

     Young was represented by Thomas F, Militano, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Rachelle Jones.
