     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable Thomas J. Critchley Jr., J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on January 21, 2020 by Vincent Scardino, Jr..

 

     Scardino, age 49, of Newton, pled guilty to Driving While Suspended for a Second or Subsequent DWI, a crime of the fourth degree and a Disorderly Persons charge of Obstruction.  Sentencing is presently scheduled for February 28, 2020.

 

     The defendant admitted when he was stopped by Newton Police for a motor vehicle violation he was driving with a suspended license for a second or subsequent DWI.  He also admitted to failing to appear for several Court ordered appearances.

 

     Scardino was represented by Shaun Russell, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
