NJ SNAP Cost of Living Adjustments

The Sussex County Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Social Services announces that recipients of the New Jersey Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (NJ SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps, may receive cost of living adjustments in their benefits effective October 1, 2019.

NJ SNAP Cost of Living Adjustments

The Sussex County Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Social Services announces that recipients of the New Jersey Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (NJ SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps, may receive cost of living adjustments in their benefits effective October 1, 2019. Adjustments will be made to the allowances, deductions, maximum allowable gross and net income amounts, and the monthly benefit allotments for the NJ SNAP Program.

The following adjustments are effective October 1, 2019:

*Applicants 60 years and older or those who are disabled may be eligible for SNAP benefits (Food Stamps) based upon net income if over gross income limit.

New applicants can contact the Sussex County Division of Social Services by calling 973-383-3600 or by e-mail at info@dss.sussex.nj.us.  The agency is located at 83 Spring Street, Suite 203, Newton, NJ, and the hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Applications can also be completed on line at www.njhelps.org.
