The Sussex County Department of Environmental and Public Health Services (SCDEPHS) routinely inspects food service establishments within its 22 contracting municipalities.  The main purpose of the inspections is to protect Sussex County residents and its visitors from food borne diseases by enforcing compliance with State Food Regulations.  To help ensure that these establishments stay in compliance, the SCDEPH has created an educational CD for them. The CD will offer food service establishments a variety of information from proper hand washing procedures, choking response information, a copy of the State Food Regulations, proper sanitizing procedures and more.

The Department's goal is to provide food service establishments with a user friendly CD that can be shared easily with their employees on a regular basis, reinforcing good food handling techniques.  Each food service establishment that is inspected by the Sussex County Department of Environmental and Public Health Services will receive one of these CDs free of charge. Information posted on the CD can also be obtained here. We hope this information will help food service establishments provide wholesome, unadulterated food product for all of their customers.
