On December 16, 2009, students at High Point Regional High School held a food drive to benefit the food pantry at the Sussex County Division of Social Services, where the demand for food has grown faster than the agency's ability to meet the need. Each student was encouraged to provide non-perishable food items to help their hungry neighbors around the County. Read More...

Parrott, Wirths to Lead Sussex County Freeholder Board for 2010

The Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders has unanimously elected Jeffrey M. Parrott and Harold J. Wirths to serve as Director and Deputy Director, respectively, of the Freeholder Board in 2010.
The Re-opening of County Route 622 Bridge H-03 over the Paulins Kill River

The new 75 ft. long Bridge H-03, which replaced the 83 year old deteriorated existing bridge, was built by Lakeside Construction of Hopatcong, NJ and remarkably took just under four months to construct at a cost of $2 Million. The roadway was re-opened to two way traffic in November, 2009.

The Sussex County Farmland Preservation program has had another busy and productive year. As of December 17th, 31 farms were closed, adding about 1,924 acres to the program.
