Are you and your family up-to-date with all of your shots? August is National Immunization Awareness Month and a good time to learn about how immunizations (shots) help to protect people from getting many types illnesses or diseases.

If you are bitten or scratched by a domestic or wild animal, clean the wound immediately with soap and water, seek immediate medical attention and report the bite to the Sussex County Department of Environmental and Public Health Services.
