VITA
(Volunteer Income Tax Assistance)

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance), coordinated and sponsored by the Sussex County Division of Senior Services, provides free income tax assistance and preparation to seniors and income eligible individuals. Volunteer training, conducted by a Certified Public Accountant and an IRS Representative, takes place in January of each year. Areas covered include basic Federal and State returns, property tax reimbursement and Earned Income Tax Credit. Individuals interested in becoming VITA volunteers should contact the Sussex County Division of Senior Services at 973-579-0555 or seniorservices@sussex.nj.us.

Volunteers staff approximately 14 locations on various days and times, including some evenings and weekend appointments, from the first week in February until approximately April 15th each year. E-filing is available at some locations. Appointments are necessary for each location and can be arranged by calling the Sussex County Division of Senior Services at 973-579-0555.
