Office of the Medical Examiner
In accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:9-46, there is established the position of County Medical Examiner who shall be appointed by the Board. As provided by State Statute he shall be a licensed physician with such training or experience as may be prescribed by standards promulgated by the State Medical Examiner by rule or regulation and as per State Medical Examiner Act (N.J.S.A. 52:17B-78 et seq.) This Office reports directly to the Public Health Coordinator (County Department Head).
