2013

CR-644 (aka Vernon Crossing) Landslide Remediation. Please see the attached Project Completion Notice for the Emergency Re-stabilization of CR 644. All construction activities (including Punch List items) have been completed as of June 12, 2013.

Bridge X-54 (Oil City Road) Temporary Road Closure & Repairs. Please be advised that as of 2:30 PM on Thursday, May 23rd, Bridge X-54 on Oil City Road in Wantage, NJ has been fully OPENED to through traffic.

Emergency Replacement of Bridge S-12. As of April 9, 2013, Middleville Road has been fully opened to traffic. All construction activities at the site have been completed. Please see attached Project Status Update Notice regarding the replacement of Sussex County Bridge S-12.

Emergency Channel Restoration at Bridge B-05 Milk Street, Branchville. As of April 1, 2013, Milk Street has been fully opened to traffic. All construction activities at the site have been completed. Please see the attached Project Status Update Notice regarding the repairs to Sussex County Bridge B-05.

Emergency Stabilization Repairs of Bridges X-43 and X-50 on CR 651/Unionville Road in Wantage As of February 25, 2013, CR 651/Unionville Road has been fully opened to traffic. All construction activities at the sites have been completed and only the final punch-list items remain. Please see the Project Status Update Notices below.

Emergency Repairs to Bridge S-17 on County Route 612/Pond Brook Road in Stillwater As of February 7, 2013, CR 612/Pond Brook Road has been fully opened to traffic.

Emergency Repairs of Bridge S-25 As of February 4, 2013, CR 622/Newton Swartswood Road has been fully opened to traffic.

Emergency Replacement of Bridge P-31 Meyers Road, Sandyston Township As of January 16, 2013, Meyers Road has been fully opened to traffic.

Emergency Replacement of Bridge X-67 As of January 9, 2013, Courtright Road has been fully opened to traffic.

Emergency Replacement of Bridge M-05 on Fox Hollow Road in Montague Fox Hollow Road has been fully opened to traffic.

Repairs of Bridge X-25 on Lower Unionville Road in Wantage As of December 17, 2012, Lower Unionville Road has been fully opened to traffic.

Bridge B-01 Emergency Repair As of October 3, 2012, Kemah Lake Road and Bridge B-01 have been fully opened to traffic.

Bridge V-40 Emergency Repair Bridge V-40, Glenwood Mountain Road, Vernon Township, was fully opened to traffic on September 19.

Bridge J-07 Emergency Replacement Bridge J-07, Silver Lake Road, Hardyston Township, was fully opened to traffic on September 17.

2012 Long Line Striping Completed September 12, 2012.

Bridge X-34 Emergency Roadway Repairs Bridge X-34, Possum Glen Road, Wantage Township, was opened to traffic on August 28.

2012 Cracksealing Completed August, 2012.

FY 2011 Sussex County Paving Program Completed August, 2012.

Int CR 517 Maple Grange - Vernon. Completed 07/05/2012.

Bridge V-52 Emergency Replacement Bridge V-52, Route 517, Vernon Township, was opened to traffic on July 2.

Replacement of Sussex County Bridge C-16 Carrying County Route 607 (Lake Lackawanna Drive) over Lubbers Run, Township of Byram was re-opened to traffic on December 9.

2009

Bridge H03 Replacement The new 75 ft. long Bridge H-03, which replaced the 83 year old deteriorated existing bridge, was built by Lakeside Construction of Hopatcong, NJ and remarkably took just under four months to construct at a cost of $2 Million. The roadway was re-opened to two way traffic in November, 2009.

2008

Historic Bridge K07 Put to Recreational Use On September 30, 2008 the NJDOT opened the new Sussex County Bridge K-09 carrying Sparta-Stanhope Road (CR-605) over the historic Lackawanna (Railroad) Cutoff on the Stanhope Hopatcong border, thereby allowing the adjacent 97 year old County Bridge K-07 to be retired from active service.

2007

Gingerbread Castle Road Bridge The Gingerbread Castle Road Bridge over the Wallkill River was a single-lane bridge which had severely deteriorated over the years, prompting the Sussex County Department of Engineering to call for its replacement.
