²BARRETT HOUSE MUSEUM173 Barrett Road in Highland Lakes. The Museum is sponsored by the Vernon Township Historic Society and is open all year on Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to 4pm. It is filled with artifacts and antiques showing life in the 19th Century and features seasonal displays. An 1850’s kitchen garden was started during the Spring by Master Gardeners Group. ²DAR ELIAS VAN BUNSCHOOTEN MUSEUM1097 Route 23 North, Sussex, NJ 07461. The Van Bunschooten House Museum is a restored 1787 Colonial Dutch house with outbuildings.  The Museum contains period furnishings and a Genealogy Library.  The Chinkchewunska Chapter DAR owns and administers the Museum.  It is open May 15th through October 15th Thursdays and Saturdays 1 pm to 4 pm and by appointment.  Phone 973-875-7634 or 973-875-5335  E-Mail:  rjkota@earthlink.net 

²FOSTER-ARMSTRONG HOUSE – 320 River Rd./ CR 521 {mailing address P.O. Box 1101, Montague, NJ 07827}  973-293-3106. Located within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Maintained by M.A.R.C.H. (Montague Assoc. for Restoration of Community History) as a museum and its society headquarters, the house is on the National Historic Register and dates c.1790.  Varied historic exhibits and displays of local interest.  Open: Sundays 1-4pm during the summer, and also during programs and by appt.    Website: www.montaguehistory.org

²FRANKLIN MINERAL MUSEUM32 Evans Street, Franklin, NJ 07416.  Phone 973-827-3481 The Museum features fluorescent, local, and worldwide minerals.  Some species are found nowhere else on earth. Other exhibits include a two-level mine replica, Native American relics and fossils.  Rock collect on an open mine tailings dump.  Open March to December.

²GARRIS CENTERCulver Brook Restoration Foundation, Broad Street, Branchville, NJ  07826.  Restoration of a Turn-of-the-Century ice-cream parlor, private residence and a blacksmith shop & museum.  The facility also houses a small theatre area, which is used for many events including dramatic productions.  A reconstructed 1825 log cabin was relocated from Frankford Township to Waterloo Village, Byram Twsp. ²MONROE STONE SCHOOLHOUSE3145 Route 94, Hardyston, NJ.  Complete restoration of an early nineteenth century one room school house, operated by the Hardyston Heritage Society.  Schoolhouse museum is open Memorial Day through Labor Day on the first Sunday of the month.  Group tours available on other days by appointment.  Call 973-663-0075 or write the Hardyston Heritage Society, P.O. ²NELDON-ROBERTS STONEHOUSElocated at 501 Route 206 N { mailing address: P.O. Box 1101, Montague, NJ 07827}  973-293-3106. It is within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The stone building dates to the 1800's and is maintained as a museum by M.A.R.C.H., reflecting its past use as an early schoolhouse and exhibits relating to Montague history. Herb Garden maintained by Minisink Garden Club. Open on Sundays 1-4 pm during the summer and by appointment. ²OLD SCHOOLHOUSE/FIREHOUSE MUSEUMP.O. Box 24, Ogdensburg, NJ 07439  973-209-7443.

²SPACE FARMS ZOO & MUSEUMRt. 519, Beemerville, NJ  07461  Phone: 973-875-5800.  One hundred acre complex, over 500 live animals, birds and reptiles, native and exotic.  The museum houses a large collection of rare Americana including: antique autos and carriages, wagons, farm tools, kitchen utensils, household items, clocks, bicycles, big-game trophies, antique weapons, Native American artifacts, toys and dolls.  Parking, picnic and restaurant facilities are available.  Space Farms is open from May 1st to October 31st  9:00 am to 5:00 pm 7 days a week.

²STERLING HILL MINING MUSEUM, INC. 30 Plant Street, Ogdensburg, NJ 07439  Phone: 973-209-7212  New Jersey’s only underground mine tour 1 ½ to 2 hour presentation.  Museum Schedule – March 1 to November 30 – 7 days a week; gift shop open; 10 am to 3 pm; weekends in December and March only, weather permitting, tours at 1 PM other times by chance or appointment; January and February open only by special appointment.  Website:  www.sterlinghill.org

²SUSSEX COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY82 Main Street, P.O. Box 913, Newton, NJ  07860.  Phone: 973-383-6010  The Society Museum includes a collection of Sussex County memorabilia and a library of local histories, genealogies, ledgers and maps.

²WATERLOO525 Waterloo Road, Stanhope, NJ  07874.  Phone 973-347-0900.  Waterloo is a living history restoration nestled on the banks of the Musconetcong River.  Guests are welcome to tour the Victorian homes, blacksmith shop, grist & saw mill, the re-created Lenape Indian Village and much more.  A variety of music & ethnic festivals, as well as historic programs, antiques and craft shows are held annually.  Parking, picnicking and food concessions are available.  Groups rates for schools, camps and adult groups apply with a reservation.  The Meeting House is available for private and corporate functions year round.
