Sussex County Library Celebrates National Library Week April 13 - April 19

The Sussex County Library is celebrating National Library Week. It is a great time to come into the library and discover some of the new programs and services being offered by the library system.

National Library Week, which began in 1959, is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association. It is a celebration of the contributions of America's libraries and librarians, and it is designed to promote library use and support. This year's theme is, "Lives Change @ Your Library."

The Youth Services Department will be featuring books and crafts about libraries at all story times. Children will be able to design their own libraries at the LEGO Club meetings. Lego Meetings, which are highly-attended, are held at the following libraries: Dennis Branch, Sussex-Wantage Branch, Louise Childs Branch, and the Main Library (the schedule is available on the library's website, www.sussexcountylibrary.org.) Teens and adults will be invited to join the Adult Fans of Teen Books on Wednesday, April 16th. Bookmarks, celebrating National Library Week, will be available for patrons to take.

During April, the library will have some terrific programs, including, the 5th Annual Touch-A-Truck at the Main Library, the Shirley Temple Film Festival, Read to a Dog at the Louise Childs Branch, as well as numerous programs for teens and adults. All information is available on the library's web site.

Other popular services available for library patrons include free Museum passes, including the Intrepid, Freegal (download music), and Zinio (read magazines on your electronic devices).

For more information, call your local library.
