Public Health Nurses Take It to the Streets

The Sussex County Office of Public Health Nursing will be providing health awareness at various locations in the County through their Take It to the Streets program.

Public Health Nurses Take It to the Streets

In an effort to keep county residents safe and well, the Sussex County Division of Health, Office of Public Health Nursing will be providing health awareness at various locations in the County through their Take It to the Streets program. Public health education is the focus of the program. The goal is to provide residents with health information in their own communities as they go about their daily activities. As part of the Take it to the Streets program, the Public Health Nurses will be on-site at the Bee Hive Thrift Shop on August 17, 2016 between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to provide education and information about free cancer screenings available in the county, the NJCEED Program, Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and the HPV vaccine. The thrift shop is located at 123 Spring Street, Newton, NJ. The presentation will include:

  • A display with information on understanding the importance of early cancer screening and detection, HPV, and the HPV vaccine
  • Health information take-home brochures
  • Nurses to answer individual questions
