Decrease Your Taxes and/or Increase Your Refund with
Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)!
   (Newton, NJ)     Individuals who worked in 2009 and meet income limits could be eligible for up to $5,567 Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).  The Earned Income Tax Credit is a federal and New Jersey state wage supplement for working families and individuals.  If you are eligible for EITC, you could reduce the taxes you owe or even receive a larger refund.  Here's how:
Ø Check the chart below to see if your income falls within the EITC guidelines.
Ø Request an IRS Earned Income Tax Credit Form and file it with your regular federal and state tax returns.
Ø Get your REFUND FAST with FREE electronic filing.
Ø Get your taxes done for FREE if your income is $50,000 or less at one of these Sussex County Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites:
o   Andover: First Hope Bank
o   Frankford: Sussex County Main Library; Sussex Bank
o   Franklin Senior Center
o   Hamburg Municipal Building
o   Hopatcong Civic Center
o   Montague Municipal Building
o   Newton: Liberty Towers; Division of Senior Services; Division of Social Services; Project Self-Sufficiency; Sussex Bank
o   Sparta Senior Center
o   Sussex-Wantage: Sussex-Wantage Library; Sussex Bank
o   Vernon Senior Center

Number of Qualifying Children
For Single/Head of Household or Qualifying Widow(er), Income Must be Less Than
For Married Filing Jointly, Income Must be Less Than
Maximum Amount of EITC
No Child
One Child
Two Children
Three or More Children
 *Note: To get the state credit, you must file a federal tax form, be eligible for the federal EITC and file a state income tax return.
Your Earned Income Tax Credit refund can be used for anything you want, including paying down debt, investing in education or saving for the future!
