Press Release - Sentencing of Michael Linder

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Michael Linder, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on February 2, 2018.
     Linder, age 27 of Sussex, was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for 16 days and two years of probation.  He was ordered to submit to a psychological evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made from same, submit a DNA sample, and pay fines and fees totaling $655.00.  His driver license was ordered suspended for one year.
     He pled guilty on October 23, 2017, to Unlawful Taking of a Means of Conveyance, a fourth degree crime. 
     The defendant took an individual’s car without permission on October 30, 2016, in Vernon Township.
     Linder was represented by Andrew Bitar, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Stephanie LaCarrubba.
