Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Linda Hulse-Appleby, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on January 26, 2018.
Hulse-Appleby, age 52, of Byram, was sentenced to 180 days home detention and four years probation with conditions on the present charge. The Defendant’s prior probation was extended for another 4 years concurrent to her new sentence. The Defendant shall pay $272.00 fines and fees.
She pled guilty on December 6, 2017, to one count of Shoplifting, one count of Theft (both Third Degree Crimes) and a Violation of Probation.
The Defendant took merchandise from the Frogmore Country Store in Byram on June 6, 2016.
Hulse-Appleby was represented by Assistant Deputy Public Defender, Shaun Morgan Russell, and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor, Magdalen Czykier.
