Press Release - Sentencing of Timothy A. Durgin

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Timothy A. Durgin, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on December 15, 2017.
 
     Durgin, age 23, of Newton, was sentenced to three years Probation on condition that he serve thirty (30) days in the Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program, obtain a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, undergo random urine monitoring, complete 100 hours community service, and pay $1,750.00 in court fines and fees. 
 
     He pled guilty on October 30, 2017 to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a crime of the third degree. 
 
     The defendant was in possession of Suboxone after Sussex County Sheriff’s Officers found the controlled dangerous substance on his person while screening the defendant for entry to the Sussex County Superior Court.
 
     Durgin was represented by Steven Insley, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
