Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Christopher Scurto, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on December 15, 2017.
Scurto, age 25 of Greentown, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to three years of probation with jail credit of nine days. He was ordered to attend a minimum of three AA meetings per week, obtain his GED, submit a DNA sample, submit to a TASC evaluation at the discretion of Probation, and pay fines and fees totaling $1,205.00.
He pled guilty on October 16, 2017, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime.
The defendant was in possession of 18 glassine folds of heroin on March 23, 2015, in Andover Township.
Scurto was represented by David Nufrio, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
