Press Release - Sentencing of Mark Garrera

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Mark Garrera, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on December 1, 2017.
 
     Garrera, age 26, of Franklin, was sentenced to 4 years probation with one day time served, submit to random urine screening, complete a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations.  He must also maintain full time employment, complete 150 hours of community service, with one-year loss of license concurrent to a DWI charge, and pay all court fines and fees.  
 
     He pled guilty on October 10, 2017, to third degree Unlawful Taking by Means of Conveyance and Failure to Turn Over CDS. 
 
     The defendant obtained a vehicle without the consent of the owner along with a co-defendant. They were later found by Franklin Police Department in possession of the vehicle as well as Suboxone.
 
     Garrera was represented by Thomas Militano, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
