Press Release - Sentencing of Jason K. Corey

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Jason K. Corey, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on December 1, 2017.
     Corey, age 26, of Newton, was sentenced to 3 years in New Jersey State Prison with credit of 537 days time served.  He must also pay all court imposed fines and fees.  
     He pled guilty on May 18, 2017, to two counts of third degree Burglary. 
     The defendant broke into a vehicle in the Town of Newton, taking various items, which were later recovered.  He also broke into Saint Paul’s Abbey in Andover, taking several items.  Both incidents occurred in February 2017.
     Corey was represented by Thomas Militano, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
