Press Release - Sentencing of Melissa Maher

July 12, 2017
 
     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Melissa Maher, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on July 7, 2017.
 
     Maher, age 30, of Matamoras, was sentenced to three (3) years Probation, She must also follow all conditions of probation including: continue all current treatment programs, undergo a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, attend a NA/AA support group twice a week, and pay all fines and fees. 
 
     She pled guilty on May 15, 2017 to third degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. 
 
     In March of 2017, the defendant was found to be in possession of Heroin when she turned herself into the Sussex County Sherriff’s Office for an outstanding warrant.
 
     Maher was represented by Steven Insley, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Shaina Brenner.
