Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Terry L. Powers, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on October 20, 2017.
Powers, age 53, of Milford, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to five (5) years Probation on condition that she complete 150 hours of community service, undergo random urine monitoring, submit a DNA sample, continue treatment and pay $155 in fines and fees.
She pled guilty on September 11, 2017, to third degree Shoplifting.
In May of this year she entered Kohl’s Department Store in Newton taking merchandise, which was valued at over one thousand dollars, and left the store. All of the items taken were recovered.
Powers was represented by Anthony Alfano, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
