Press Release - Plea of David Haurey

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on September 25, 2017 by David Haurey.
Haurey, age 52, of Hartwell, Georgia, pled guilty to Forgery and Identity Theft, both crimes of the third degree, and fourth degree Unlawful Use of a Credit Card. Sentencing is presently scheduled for November 17, 2017.
The defendant admitted that he used checks belonging to the victim to make a purchases and pay bills. He also used the victim’s credit card to make multiple purchases for himself and used the victim’s identifying information to obtain benefits of his own. All of these crimes were committed without the Sparta Township victim’s consent or knowledge.
Haurey was represented by David Nufrio, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Jerome Neidhardt.
