Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on August 21, 2017, by Laurie Banta.
Banta, age 44 of Hewitt, pled guilty to Theft, a third degree crime. Sentencing is presently anticipated for October 6, 2017.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to taking jewelry from a Fredon Township home in November 2012.
The case was investigated by Tpr. M.A. Braccioforte of the New Jersey State Police and Det. Dean Voris of the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office.
Banta was represented by Shaun Morgan Russell, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
