Press Release - Sentencing of Janice Davis

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Janice Davis, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on June 9, 2017.
 
     Davis, age 37 of Andover, was sentenced to three years of probation with jail credit for 174 days’ time served.  She was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made from same, submit a DNA sample at her own expense, make joint and several restitution in the amount of $814.10, and pay fines and fees totaling $1,280.00.
 
     She pled guilty on April 25, 2017, to six counts of Burglary, a third degree crime; Fraudulent Use of a Credit card, a third degree crime; two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, a third degree crime; and Receiving Stolen Property, a fourth degree crime.
 
     The defendant conspired with another individual and entered two vehicles in Newton on December 8, 2016, and used a stolen credit card to purchase items at the Newton Quick Chek.  She and her co-defendant agreed to enter a vehicle in Andover Boro on December 12, 2016, and three vehicles in Andover Township on December 17 and 18, 2016. 
 
     Defendant also received property that she knew was stolen on December 18, 2016, in Andover Township.
 
     Davis was represented by Steven Insley, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Jerome P. Neidhardt.
