Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Eric M. Strand, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on May 18, 2017.
Eric M. Strand, age 59, of Flanders, was sentenced to three years State Prison with credit for two days served. He also must comply with the Sex Offender Restraining Order, have no unsupervised contact with minors, forfeiture of his teaching license, is banned from future employment with minors, and pay standard fines and fees. At his release he will be required to register under Megan’s Law and will be supervised under Parole Supervision for Life.
Eric M. Strand was arrested on July 7, 2016 and pled guilty on January 18, 2017, to Endangering the Welfare of a Child (a second degree crime) and Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact (a third degree crime).
Defendant was represented by Robert Scrivo, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Laura L. Nazzaro.
