Farmers Market at the Fair

Once again, the Sussex County Farmers Market will be open for business in front of the greenhouse. Run by the Sussex County Board of Agriculture, this market highlights the best of Jersey Fresh. Make this your one stop shopping for fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables, flowers, meat, cheese and value added products. Instead of "Fair Food", stop by and pick up some peaches, plums or early apples to munch on as you stroll through the Agricultural Division of the Fair. Remember - fresh picked provides great taste! Our Sussex County farmers bring their products picked from their farms each day. There will be everything you need - greens for a healthy salad, sweet corn, Jersey tomatoes, patriotic red, white or blue potatoes, garlic, onions, squash, peppers, carrots and melons, among others. Next, choose a beautiful perennial to entice hummingbirds and butterflies to your yard. Then, pick a scented bouquet of fresh cut flowers and herbs that will bring you pleasure for the week to come. There will also be selections of value added, locally made items including goat milk soap, jams, jellies, pickles, alpaca wool and products, honey and other goodies. Local meat and farmers cheese will round out your menu selections. Additionally, the Farmers Market building at the main entrance road to the fairgrounds will maintain its normal Saturday hours from 9am to 2pm both weekends during the Fair. Remember; when you visit the Sussex County farmers market, you are not only getting healthy, great tasting food, but you are supporting our local farmers and helping keep them viable. Whether you live in Sussex County, or just enjoy visiting us, Buying Fresh and Local helps maintain a quality of life we all value. So stop by the Farmers Market and help keep Sussex County, New Jersey's Greenest County GREEN!
