Sussex County Wastewater Plan Update

The Sussex County Wastewater Management Plan Update was given preliminary approval by the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders in November 2007. A grant was obtained from the NJ Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to update the Sussex County Wastewater Management Plan (WMP), as required every six years, and the work was done by the County Department of Engineering and Planning. The WMP Update shows existing and proposed wastewater facilities and sewer service areas, and guides future growth and development in Sussex County.

The Sussex County WMP Update is in accordance with current New Jersey Dept. of Environmental Protection (DEP) regulations and the Highlands Water Protection and Planning Act. The Sussex County WMP Update was also revised to correspond with the Sussex County Strategic Growth Plan that promotes development of centers. The WMP Update is now under DEP review, and is available on the Sussex County website.
