Press Release - Sentencing of Eva Sliker
Release Date: March 13, 2018

March 12, 2018
Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Eva Sliker, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on March 9, 2018.
Sliker, age 35 of Newton, was sentenced to three years of probation with credit for 26 days of time served to run concurrent with existing Passaic County Probation.  She was ordered to write a letter of apology, submit a DNA sample and pay fines and fees totaling $155.00.
She pled guilty on January 8, 2018, to Resisting Arrest, a fourth degree crime.
On November 30, 2017, the defendant was observed by a Newton police officer who had knowledge of an active arrest warrant for her.  The defendant was permitted back into her apartment to provide paperwork relating to the warrant, but she locked her door, crawled through a window and left down the fire escape of an adjacent building to avoid arrest.
Sliker was represented by Shaun Morgan Russell, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Sally Anne Monkemeier.
