Press Release - Sentencing of James D.Wilke

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of James D.Wilke, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on February 2, 2018.
 
     Wilke received an aggregate sentence of six years in State Prison with one day credit for time served plus fines, fees and restitution in the amount of $1,953.09.
 
     Wilke plead guilty to one count each of Conspiracy, Theft by Deception, Issuing Bad Checks, Witness Tampering and Hindering Apprehension.
 
     Wilke conspired to issue and deposit bad checks to Lakeland Bank, Wantage. Between the dates of October 17, 2015 and December 7, 2015, he obtained in excess of $500.00 from Lakeland Bank by deception.
 
     On or about December 9, 2015, Wilke caused a witness to complete a false affidavit and did volunteer that knowingly false affidavit to a law enforcement officer.
 
     Wilke was represented by Charles O’Connell, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Stephanie LaCarrubba.
