Press Release - Sentencing of Reginald D. Casterlin

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Reginald D. Casterlin, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on January 26, 2018.
 
     Casterlin, age 49, of Vernon, was sentenced to three years Probation on condition that he serve 540 days in jail and a ten (10) years loss of his driver’s license. Upon return of his license he must participate in the Interlock program for three years.  He must also undergo a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, undergo any other evaluations 
required by Probation, attend AA/NA five times per week, submit to random urine monitoring, submit a DNA sample, and pay $4,324.00 in court fines and fees.
 
     He pled guilty on November 6, 2017 to 4th degree Driving While Suspended for a Second or Subsequent DWI and three DWI motor vehicle charges. 
 
     In July the defendant was driving under the influence when he was involved in a motor vehicle accident in Vernon.  At that time he was also driving while his driver’s license was suspended for a second or subsequent DWI.  He was also driving while intoxicated on two other separate occasions in Hamburg Township and Hardyston Township.
 
     Casterlin was represented by Shane Paugh, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Stephanie LaCarrubba.
