Press Release - Plea of David Chavez

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an indictment before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on January 8, 2018, by David Chavez.
     Chavez, age 30 of Long Valley, pled guilty to Hindering Apprehension, a fourth degree crime.  Sentencing is presently anticipated for February 23, 2018.
     In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to giving a false name to a police officer thereby hindering the apprehension of another on June 21, 2017.
     The case was investigated by Sergeant Ryan Tracey and Patrolman Daniel Kern of the Hopatcong Police Department.
     Chavez was represented by Nicole Rizzolo, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
