Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Eleni Skordos, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on December 1, 2017.
Skordos, age 37 of Clifton, was sentenced to five years of probation with credit for three days of time served in jail. She was ordered to submit to a substance abuse evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made, submit a DNA sample, submit to mandatory drug screenings, attend AA meetings five times per week and pay fines and fees totaling $3,615.00. Her driver license was ordered suspended for two years.
She pled guilty on August 31, 2017, to three counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime, and two Driving While Intoxicated offenses and a Handicap Parking violation, all motor vehicle offenses.
The defendant was in possession of heroin and drove under the influence on September 2, 2016, in Sandyston Township; was in possession of heroin and/or cocaine and parked in a handicap designated parking spot on October 13, 2016, in Branchville; and was in possession of heroin and drove under the influence on October 21, 2016, in Frankford Township.
