Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Tony Laterra, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on October 13, 2017.
Laterra, age 23 of Palisades Park, NJ, was sentenced to three years non-custodial probation with credit for 4 days time-served and ordered to pay mandatory fines and fees. Laterra was also ordered to complete a TASC evaluation and follow the recommendations.
Laterra pled guilty on August 29, 2017 to one (1) count of False Public Alarms, a crime of the third degree.
On March 20, 2016, Laterra was arrested after sending messages indicating that his friends were on the way to assault his girlfriend’s mother. Police responded and deemed the messages false after further investigation.
Laterra was represented by Kristopher Beralo, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
