Press Release - Sentencing of James Muller

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of James Muller, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on October 6, 2017.
     Muller, age 27 of Hampton, was sentenced to five years of probation.  He was ordered to attend AA/NA meetings twice per week, submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made from same, seek and maintain employment, submit a DNA sample at his own expense and pay fines and fees totaling $1,199.00.   His license was ordered suspended for one year. 
     He pled guilty on August 21, 2017, to Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a third degree crime, and Criminal Trespass, Criminal Mischief, and Resisting Arrest, all fourth degree crimes, and Driving Under the Influence, a motor vehicle offense. 
     The defendant took a Hampton Township resident’s car without permission and drove while intoxicated on January 16, 2017, and he entered a Hampton Township home on January 18, 2017, and caused damage in excess of $500.00.  He also fled from a Newton Police Officer on April 15, 2017. 
     Muller was represented by Thomas Militano, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Nikoletta Agouras.
