Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Patrick Shevlin, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on May 26, 2017.
Shevlin, age 27 of Montague, was sentenced to three years of probation and 60 days in the Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program with credit for 13 days served. He was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made, submit to drug monitoring, and pay fines and fees totaling $1,155.00.
He pled guilty on April 10, 2017, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime.
The defendant was in possession of 50 wax folds of heroin in Montague on September 20, 2016.
The case was investigated by Sgt. M. K. Verheeck of the New Jersey State Police.
Shevlin was represented by Steven Insley, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Laura Nazzaro.
