Press Release - Plea of Lea M. Applegate

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on May 17, 2017 by Lea M. Applegate.

     Applegate, age 21, of Mine Hill, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Shoplifting, both crimes of the third degree.  Sentencing is presently scheduled for June 23, 2017.
     The defendant admitted she and a co-defendant took several video games from the Franklin Walmart in July of 2016.  
She also admitted she was in possession of heroin when Hopatcong Police responded to a disturbance call, which involved the defendant.
     Applegate was represented by Vanessa Henderson, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
