The Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services is offering a FREE training for volunteers who are interested in co-leading one of their proven health promotion programs, "A MATTER OF BALANCE: Managing Fears about Falls."

Volunteer Leaders Sought for Health Promotion Programs

(Newton, NJ) The Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services is offering a FREE training for volunteers who are interested in co-leading one of their proven health promotion programs, "A MATTER OF BALANCE: Managing Fears about Falls." Volunteers who receive this training will co-lead eight-sessions (2 hours per week). The workshops will offer practical strategies to reduce fear of falling, address safety issues, increase activity levels, and improve balance, flexibility, and strength through exercise. The two-day leadership training for this program will take place on Fridays, April 19 and 26, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., at the Sussex County Administrative Center, in the 2nd floor Conference Room, located at One Spring Street, Newton, NJ. A Coach Manual is included with the training and lunch will be provided. Potential leaders must attend both training dates for the program. Pre-registration is required.
