Release Date: October 26, 2012

Prepare Now for Hurricane Safety

Make your preparations now.

Before a hurricane strikes, visit Ready.gov's hurricane page to find out what you need to do before, during, and after a hurricane.

Visit Sussex County's Public Health Emergency Preparedness Page for additional information.

Sign up for Outbound 9-1-1 and Register Ready . Outbound 9-1-1 lets us reach out to you in the event of an emergency. Register Ready allows residents with special needs and their families, friends and associates an opportunity to provide information to emergency response agencies, so emergency responders can better plan to serve them in a disaster or other emergency.

After a storm, watch our Alerts page for information on storm related road closures, power outages, Google Public Alerts, and links to our Facebook, Twitter and RSS feeds.

Be Informed . Make a Plan . Build a Kit . Pledge to Prepare .

The County of Sussex Division of Emergency Management will provide regular updates on the County website and social media channels.
